Welding Technology or Welding Science

Welding-

The process of joining similar or dissimilar metals with or without application of heat, with or without application of pressure, with or without any addition of filler metals.  

Major Classification of Welding Process

1. Solid-State Welding- Both metals are in solid-state. eg- Friction Welding

2. Liquid State Welding- Both metals are in the liquid state. eg- Gas welding 

3. Solid-Liquid State Welding- One metal in Solid while other in Liquid states. eg- Soldering.
