Psychological AptitudeTests:

Psycho test / Aptitude test shall be applicable to those candidates who qualify in the written tests conducted by Railway Recruitment Boards (RRB)s against direct recruitment quota for recruitment to the safety categories of staffs.

The psychological test will be conducted and evaluated by the Psycho-Technical Unit of RDSO (Research, Design and Standards Organization) attached to the Chief Safety Officer of the concerned Zonal Railway in coordination with the Railway Recruitment Board.

The Psycho tests have been designed for various categories of jobs in critical safety categories.

At present Psychological Tests are applicable at the time of Direct Recruitment to the following categories –

1. Assistant Station Master (ASM)

2. Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) and

3. Motorman

4. SC/TO of Metro Rail

These tests are designed with a view to improving the quality of personnel and operational safety.

How these tests are conducted?

WHAT CAN YOU DO TO GET HIGHER SCORES? 

Before the Session:

Don’t stay up all night. Make sure you get a good night’s sleep.

Give yourself plenty of time to get to the session so you don’t have to rush.

If you wear glasses or a hearing aid, be sure to take them with you.

At the Session:

Listen carefully to the instructions.

Do exactly as you are told.

Don’t be afraid to ask questions.

Work quickly and accurately, as most tests have short time limits.

Few Important Points About ALP Psycho / Aptitude Tests based on RDSO Letter:

Weightage of this Psycho test is only 30%. [ 70% weight age of Written Test].

There is no negative marking.

There are no fixed marks to qualify for the psycho/aptitude test. It totally depends upon T-Score. T-Score depends on the score obtained by candidates appearing for the psycho test. The number of the qualifying question may go up or down.

Formula for T-Score is-  50+10(Xmean/SD) ≥ 42

METHOD TO MARK ANSWERS

Questions are based on the test booklet provided at the time of the test.

There will be separately allotted space for a separate test on the answer sheet. (See model answer sheet)

Every test is objective based and has to solve within the allotted time.

Invigilator gives all the important instruction to the candidate If you feel any confusion must clear that.

Candidate must put their answer with the help of BLUE BALL PEN only.

Don’t use the pencil for the answer.

A letter is written in the circle on the answer sheet which shows the option.

This is advised to the candidate that before colouring the circle on the answer sheet, they should confirm the accurate answer.

The circle should colour in such a way that inner letter in the circle not visible.

 If a candidate doesn't follow all the given instruction, there is a chance to reject the answer sheet by the computer for further evaluation.

Before starting the test, the candidate should get to understand the method of the answer with the help of an example.

Before colour, the circle candidate must confirm the answer.

They are advised not to change the answer to avoid any penalty.

How to mark answers on OMR

To mark OMR always use BLUE ballpoint pen.

Speed and accuracy of marking OMR is the crucial factor in deciding your merit for Psycho Test.

So never ignore enough practising of OMR during psycho preparation. 

Use a good quality blue ink pen to mark answers.

Psycho Test-2: TABLE TEST

• Table test is asked to check your following direction sense.
• This test comes under “Test-2” (Following direction test) of ALP Psycho.
• As a table constitutes of Row and Column so this test is also called a Column-Row Test.
• In this category of test, 10 questions are asked based on a given table with an allowable time of 5 minutes.
• Before start solving questions based on Row-column method (Table test) we have to understand the few terms of this test.
