CSIR-UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) is conducted for Junior
Research Fellowship and Lecturer-ship in the following area under the Science
stream.

2. Earth Sciences
3. Life Sciences
4. Mathematical Sciences
5. Physical Sciences

The question paper comprises of three Parts.
PART-A (General Aptitude)- 20 Questions
PART-B (Relevant to discipline)- 40 Questions
PART-C (Relevant to discipline)- 60 Questions
Part-A is common to all subjects. Only Part-B and Part-C are relevant to the subject of examination.
The MCQ
test Paper of each subject shall carry a maximum of 200 marks.
Candidates will be required to answer-
15 in part ‘A’,
35 in Part ‘B’ and
25 questions in Parts ‘C’ respectively
(No. of the question to attempt may vary from exam to exam).
Questions in Parts ‘A’ and ‘B’ carry two marks each and Part ‘C’
questions carry four marks each.
Part-A:
15x2= 30 Marks
Part-B:
35x2= 70 Marks
Part-C:
25x4= 100 Marks
Total= 200 Marks
Note- In case any candidate answers more than 15, 35 and 25
questions in Parts A, B and C respectively only first 15, 35 and 25 questions
in Parts A, B and C respectively will be evaluated.
Negative Marking- 25%
Exam duration- 3 Hours
